The reality of anti-personnel mines in Colombia

This project analyses one of the most difficult realities in our country; it deals with the phenomenon of so-called anti-personnel mines that have left thousands of Colombians mutilated or even dead.

These are handmade explosive devices that are "sown" or buried in rural areas where they operate outlaw groups, such as guerrillas, or where coca plants are grown by drug trafficking groups and which seek to protect them to protect them mainly from the security forces, or also from the eradication groups of coca crops.

The sad reality that this visualization presents to us has to do with the large number of civilian victims that -without being the target of these artifacts- fall into these deadly traps, losing their lives on many occasions or, in the best of cases, losing some of their limbs. This situation does not discriminate sex or age, so much so that many of the victims are children who were playing nearby or even manipulating the artifact without having an idea what it is.
